The FIFA World Cup is the most widely viewed sporting event on the planet, and with over 60 matches scheduled it can be hard to keep up with all of the action, but Android and iOS users should be pleased to know there is a easy way to get the entire World Cup schedule on your smartphone or tablet using Google Calendar.
The easiest way to add the FIFA World Cup schedule to your Google calendar is by navigating to the following link:
Make sure you are logged into your Google account before clicking the link; you should be prompted to confirm you want to add the World Cup 2014 schedule to your Google calendar. Simply click "Yes, add this calendar" to load all of the games.
If the above link does not work you can also try accessing the group calendar directly and clicking the +Google Calendar button on the bottom right hand corner of the window via this link:
Alternatively, you can login to your Google Calendar via the desktop site and look for "Other Calendars" on the sidebar. Next, click the small down arrow and select "Add by URL" from the submenu. When prompted, enter paste the following url into the dialog box:
If you already have sync configured you should see the schedule appear on your Android device automatically. Otherwise, you can manually sync by opening the Android Calendar App, navigate to the menu, and tap sync. Next, check the boxes of the calendars you want to sync, and click save. The calendar should also update automatically as teams are eliminated from the tournament.
If the new calendar does not show up on your iPhone or other iOS device, it is most likely because new calendars are not synced by default. To change your sync settings navigate to the following url:
From here, make sure the World Cup 2014 shared calendar is checked and click the Save button in the lower right hand corner of the window.
