Latest LG G3 AnTuTu Benchmarks Reveal All – Snapdragon 801, 3GB RAM

New benchmark results from AnTuTu place the lower-end LG G3 squarely between the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4. The LG G3 isn’t scheduled for launch until this Tuesday, but new information from @evleaks and other unnamed sources posted on Thursday reveal detailed AnTuTu hardware specs that clear up a lot of rumors, leaving very little surprises for LG to share in London. The leaked screenshot from @evleaks confirms that the upcoming flagship from LG will sport a Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz with 3GB of RAM, an Adreno 330 GPU, and 32GB of internal storage. A second set of screenshots found online suggests that the LG will in fact offer a lower-end G3 with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal memory. It was just a few days ago when LG released its first official peek at the upcoming G3 smartphone in a brief teaser video. Official LG G3 Teaser Confirms OIS+, Brushed Metal Finish

A new video has surfaced on YouTube that gives an official look at the design of the upcoming LG G3. As we move closer to the impending release of the LG G3, a new teaser video has surfaced on YouTube that gives a look at the design of the upcoming flagship and confirms Optical Image Stabilization camera technology and ultra-thin design. Being a teaser, the 35 second clip doesn’t actually show anything we don’t already expect. It’s mostly suspenseful graphics and epic music. LG put most of the emphasis on its ultra-slim design and “brushed metal” backplate with rear buttons and the LG logo branding embossed in the middle. GSMArena has obtained new photos of an alleged LG G3 smartphone in gold that reveal all about the design of the upcoming flagship. Sources over at GSMArena have released new photos of an alleged gold colored LG G3 smartphone along with more “confirmed specs,” giving even more insight for what to expect from the upcoming flagship later this month. So far, we have seen the LG G3 in white and grey along with a leaked photo by @evleaks that suggests there could be a brushed metal finish in the works. LG G3 5.5-inch QHD display panel officially confirmed

LG has confirmed that its new 5.5-inch smartphone panel has been certified as QHD and will be featured in the upcoming G3 flagship, set to launch on May 27. There have been many rumors and speculation surrounding the upcoming LG G3, especially regarding the supposed QHD display. Now LG has officially confirmed in a press release published on Thursday that a 5.5-inch Quad HD (QHD) AH-IPS LCD panel for smartphones was certified as a QHD display after passing tests by NEMKO, the Norway-based international testing and certification organization for electrical products. The new 5.5-inch panel will have a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, which is four times the resolution of HD panels and 1.8 times higher than Full HD displays, producing a pixel density of 534ppi and meeting the 100% RGB color reproduction standard. Verizon LG G2 Kit Kat Update Now Available via Upgrade Assistant

The LG G2 Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat update has finally arrived for Verizon customers. This particular update comes from the mobile carrier ahead of the OTA release exclusively through the “Verizon Upgrade Assistant” as build VS98024A. Note: this software is only available on Windows for LG phones. Mac users will have to run a Windows virtual machine to install this update. In order to get the latest version of Android, all you have to do is plug-up your LG G2 via USB and wait for the AutoPlay prompt or look for the Verizon/LG drive to appear in My Computer. In that drive, look for the SWUpgradeLauncher which will walk you through the process to Kit Kat glory. As of now there is no official word from Verizon on when we might see the update over the air, but this process is simple enough so give it a try!

LG to Bring “Knock Code” Feature to the G Flex Phablet

Owners of the LG G Flex in “select countries” will soon be able to unlock their device using LG’s newest Knock Code technology, the company announced on Tuesday. LG first introduced the Knock Code feature when it took the wraps off its G Pro 2 flagship last month, which lets users activate the display by tapping one of up to over 80,000 programmable combinations. The feature has since been making its appearance on just about every smartphone released by the company so far this year, including the F series and L series. Now LG has announced that the Knock Code feature will be made available on earlier devices via an OTA firmware update starting in April. It will be provided for devices sold in South Korea only, with the company having no imminent plans to expand it to other markets. LG G Pro 2 Sales Begin in Key Asian Markets

Electronics giant LG has announced that its G Pro 2 phablet will officially debut in select Asian markets starting today. The latest competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will go on sale in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia among other countries throughout Asia. The highly anticipated successor to the company’s original Optimus G Pro was first showcased last month at Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona, Spain. It features a 5.9-inch Full HD IPS display, 13MP rear camera with OIS+, 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 3GB of RAM.
