Delta flight attendants to use Nokia Lumia 1520 phablets for in-flight customer service

The 6-inch phablet will replace the smaller Lumia 820 already in the hands of Delta on-board flight attendants, and will serve as their on-board manual and in-flight sales device, the company announced Monday. Delta Airlines announced on Monday it will be equipping approximately 20,000 flight attendants with Nokia Lumia 1520 phablets this fall. The 6-inch Windows Mobile powerhouse will replace the smaller Lumia 820 smartphone already in the hands of Delta on-board personnel, and will serve as their on-board manual and in-flight sales device. Nokia Lumia 1520 Outperforms Samsung Galaxy S5 in Basemark X Gaming Benchmark

Mobile benchmarking firm Rightware has crowned the Lumia 1520 as the “Top Gaming Phone,” outperforming the latest upcoming flagship from Samsung. Mobile gaming has come a long way since the days of Sodoku and Snake, and for those expecting a major breakthrough with the release of the Samsung Galaxy S5, you may be in for quite a surprise. Mobile benchmarking firm Rightware has published a set of benchmark results that illustrate the gaming powers of the Lumia 1520, placing it above the upcoming flagship from Samsung. What is interesting to note is that the Lumia 1520 managed to score 6 percentage points higher in the Basemark X benchmark than the Samsung Galaxy S5 despite being powered by the slightly dated Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, compared to the Snapdragon 801 found in the Galaxy S5. Phablets Take the Cake at Mobile World Congress 2014

After an exhausting week, this year’s Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, Spain is finally coming to a close but not without confirming the latest trend in mobile computing – the rise of the phablet. Handset makers introduced a plethora of big-screen smartphones ranging from 5 inches to more than 7 inches, including some older model tablets updated with LTE connectivity. Below, we take a look at the most notable phablets from this year’s technology extravaganza. Samsung Galaxy S5 The Samsung Galaxy S5 is a 5.1-inch upgrade to the year older Galaxy S4 and sports a full HD screen. Under the hood, Samsung made an upgrade from the Snapdragon 800 chipset to the slightly improved Snapdragon 801. Unfortunately, Samsung did not go with the Snapdragon 805, or the rumored 2560×1440 screen resolution that many were expecting.
