The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is a slight disappointment but worth the upgrade

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi on Thursday launched its next generation Mi Max phablet at an event in Beijing, China. It’s a 6.44-inch mid-range phablet with one outstanding feature: a 5,300-mAh battery that can charge the iPhone 7 Plus twice over. Much like its predecessor, the Mi Max 2 stays true to Xiaomi’s reputation of offering up decent specs at a competitive price but some would argue it’s a slight downgrade over the Mi Max when it comes to raw processing power. Xiaomi Sells Out of Redmi Note Phablets in Mere Seconds

Following the success of the Mi 3 and Redmi 1S, Xiaomi is enjoying yet another record debut with their new Redmi Note phablet after managing to completely sell out the device in six seconds. The Chinese smartphone maker placed 50,000 3G dual-SIM units on Flipkart Tuesday, using its popular flash sale technique where registered users could purchase the phablet starting at 2PM. It was not before listings on eBay and twitter started to surface from some lucky new Redmi Note owners who were willing to part with their highly coveted handset for a premium.
