LG G Flex 2 Rumored to Launch January 2015 at CES Las Vegas

According to new information by anonymous sources close to Android Authority, LG is planning to release the second generation of the curved G flex phablet at CES this January. When the first generation G flex was released in October 2013 it was met with mixed reviews by critics, who characterized the device as a proof-of-concept R&D prototype due to its high price tag and mid range specs. There was also that really bizarre commercial with the mouth-hand make out session, in case you forgot. Despite all of the negative feedback it looks like LG will be pressing ahead with the G Flex brand as Android Authority reports the second generation curved G Flex is expected to be released at CES Las Vegas in January 2015. Information on hardware specs is still under wraps, but unnamed insiders claim we can expect a “major upgrade” over the first generation G Flex with a high-resolution OLED screen in a smaller form factor. LG G3 Narrowly Beats ZTE Nubia Z7 in AnTuTu Benchmark

With nearly identical hardware and a much lower price tag, the ZTE Nubia Z7 managed to trail the LG G3 in AnTuTu benchmarks by less than 2,000 points. It was just yesterday when ZTE officially announced the Nubia Z7 with hardware specs that are nearly identical to the LG G3 at a much lower price, and looking at recent AnTuTu benchmarks obtained by GSMInsider it seems the Z7 is almost just as powerful too. Codenamed NX505J, the Nubia Z7 managed to score 34,356 points on the AnTuTu version 4 benchmark application compared to the 35,974 points reportedly scored by the LG G3 last month. Both handsets sport a 5.5-inch QHD screen with Snapdragon 801 chipsets and 3GB of RAM. Even with a slightly lower score than the G3, the Nubia Z7 still occupies a spot in the AnTuTu ranks squarely between the Galaxy Note 3 and S4 from Samsung, both of which only feature 1080p FHD displays and Snapdragon 800 … Continue reading LG G3 Narrowly Beats ZTE Nubia Z7 in AnTuTu Benchmark

ZTE Launches Nubia Z7 with LG G3 Specs at a More Affordable Price

Just like the LG G3, ZTE’s Nubia Z7 offers up a 5.5-inch QHD screen with a Snapdragon 801 and 13MP OIS camera, but with a much lower price $550. The LG G3 is without a doubt the hottest smartphone on the market right now, but Chinese handset maker ZTE is looking to give the highly praised flagship a run for its money by offering the same hardware specs at a much lower price with its new Nubia Z7 phablet. Just like the G3, the Nubia Z7 boasts a 5.5-inch QHD display with a super sharp resolution of 1440×2560 that offers up a retina busting pixel density of 538ppi. It is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset found in the G3 and is equipped with a luxurious 3GB of RAM. ZTE also gave the Nubia Z7 a 13MP rear camera with optical image stabilization and a slightly faster f/2.0 aperture compared to the f/2.4 shooter found on the G3. … Continue reading ZTE Launches Nubia Z7 with LG G3 Specs at a More Affordable Price

Could the new LG G Stylus be an alternative to the Samsung Galaxy Note?

LG is on a roll right now after hitting it big with the instant success of its G3 smartphone and it seems that South Korea’s second most popular handset maker has another trick up its sleeve for Samsung. According to prophetic tipster @evleaks, LG is looking to add stylus functionality to its popular “G-line” of devices with the all new LG G Stylus. The phablet will reportedly be replacing the VU line, LG’s somewhat quirky attempt to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Note. “Goodbye, LG Vu. Hello, LG G Stylus”, the leakster tweeted earlier this week. Goodbye, LG Vu. Hello, LG G Stylus. — Evan Blass (@evleaks) 30 June 2014 Other than a vague tweet from a reliable source not much is known about the G Stylus, but if LG is serious about taking on Samsung and the Galaxy Note they will have to offer up more than just a plastic stick with a rubber tip. The market is currently … Continue reading Could the new LG G Stylus be an alternative to the Samsung Galaxy Note?

LG G3 Outperforms Every Top Android Phone in Battery Performance Test

Recent improvised battery tests by PhoneArena reveal that the LG G3 offers more battery life than all of the top Android flagships currently on the market. When the LG G3 was announced last month, we learned that the upcoming flagship would be equipped with the same size battery as the G2 despite having a much larger QHD screen with double the pixels. This information led many to believe that the G3 would offer very poor battery performance, but a recent improvised battery test by PhoneArena reveals that the LG G3 actually offers more battery life than all of the top Android flagships currently available. The most noteworthy victory for the LG G3 came over the Samsung Galaxy S5, which PhoneArena recently crowned as the most enduring flagship on the market after achieving over 8 hours and 20 minutes of simulated use on a single charge. The G3 was able to beat the S5 by a full half hour, scoring 8 … Continue reading LG G3 Outperforms Every Top Android Phone in Battery Performance Test

Latest LG G3 AnTuTu Benchmarks Reveal All – Snapdragon 801, 3GB RAM

New benchmark results from AnTuTu place the lower-end LG G3 squarely between the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4. The LG G3 isn’t scheduled for launch until this Tuesday, but new information from @evleaks and other unnamed sources posted on Thursday reveal detailed AnTuTu hardware specs that clear up a lot of rumors, leaving very little surprises for LG to share in London. The leaked screenshot from @evleaks confirms that the upcoming flagship from LG will sport a Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz with 3GB of RAM, an Adreno 330 GPU, and 32GB of internal storage. A second set of screenshots found online suggests that the LG will in fact offer a lower-end G3 with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal memory. Both models will feature the 5.5-inch Quad HD 2K display (2560×1440) as previously leaked, and a 13-MP rear camera with the same OIS lens technology found on the LG G Pro 2. The smartphones will … Continue reading Latest LG G3 AnTuTu Benchmarks Reveal All – Snapdragon 801, 3GB RAM

Official LG G3 Teaser Confirms OIS+, Brushed Metal Finish

A new video has surfaced on YouTube that gives an official look at the design of the upcoming LG G3. As we move closer to the impending release of the LG G3, a new teaser video has surfaced on YouTube that gives a look at the design of the upcoming flagship and confirms Optical Image Stabilization camera technology and ultra-thin design. Being a teaser, the 35 second clip doesn’t actually show anything we don’t already expect. It’s mostly suspenseful graphics and epic music. LG put most of the emphasis on its ultra-slim design and “brushed metal” backplate with rear buttons and the LG logo branding embossed in the middle. The video also teases the G3′s optical image stabilization (referenced by a moving camera sensor) and concludes with a tag line that reads, “Simple is the new smart.” It’s pretty clear LG won’t be revealing much about the G3 before its release starting May 27th in London, other than its 5.5-inch … Continue reading Official LG G3 Teaser Confirms OIS+, Brushed Metal Finish
